Idea Studio & Entrepreneur Hub

Develop a business from its first possibility to a venture you can run. Idea Studio works for services, physical products, local businesses and digital products.

Start with an idea

Open Ideas, add your idea, then choose Open studio. Choose Edit idea in the list or Studio header to change its name and short description. This preserves your canvas and plan; it does not rename an already-created venture or rewrite published reviews. Your Studio has six views:

ViewUse it to
PlaygroundMap thoughts with notes, connections, drawings, shapes and frames
BriefDescribe the customer, problem, offer, delivery and economics
ValidateDesign tests, record observations and state what you learned
PlanOrganize steps into Discover, Validate, Build and Launch
ReferencesKeep supporting files with the idea
ReviewPrepare and publish selected questions for feedback

Guided workshop helps structure your thinking. Brainstorm with AI, when available to your account, uses the context you select and offers suggestions for you to review and apply. Suggestions are not customer evidence or proof of demand.

Explore on the canvas

Use Add note to capture a thought. Select a note to write, choose its color, connect it to another note, turn it into a test or create a plan step.

  • Use Pan canvas, middle-button dragging or trackpad scrolling to move around.
  • Use the zoom buttons or Ctrl/Command + wheel to zoom. Fit all content helps find your work.
  • Add to playground offers notes, rectangles, ellipses, decision diamonds, text blocks, frames and freehand drawing.
  • Select an item, then choose Edit selected, Duplicate or Delete selected. Shapes support labels, colors, text size/alignment, border style, positioning and a resize handle. Expand Position & size for precise dimensions.
  • Connect notes or shapes. Select a connector to edit its label, curved/straight/elbow routing and arrowhead; delete it independently.
  • Shift-click notes to select several; move, duplicate or align them together.
  • Use Draw freely for sketches. In select mode, click a line to change its color or thickness, drag it, or delete that individual drawing. A wider invisible hit area makes thin lines easier to select. Delete/Backspace removes the selected canvas item; it does not remove text while typing. Alt + arrow keys nudge focused notes and shapes.
  • Switch to List view to select notes, shapes, connectors and individual drawings, including overlapping or hard-to-reach items.

Undo and redo support exploration. The canvas has generous navigation space with bounded document size; it is not a CAD editor. Rotation, a minimap and marquee selection are not included. A note linked to a handed-off plan remains protected from deletion.

Save and collaborate

Autosave is on by default. Changes save about one second after you stop editing. The persistent save bar shows saving, saved, unsaved, or paused status. You can turn Autosave off for manual control, choose Save changes, or use Ctrl/Command + S. Live editing and plan synchronization continue their existing automatic saving while enabled. Enable Live editing to receive shared changes approximately every two seconds while the page is visible. Only teammates who already have access can participate; editing requires the relevant workspace permissions.

Independent changes merge: one teammate can change a note while another works on a different note or field. If two people change the same text, or one deletes an item the other edits, synchronization pauses and keeps your draft. Live cursors and character-by-character text merging are not included.

Saving does not discard Undo/Redo: you can undo an accidental edit after it has saved, and that correction will save too. Undo history is limited to the open editor session; it is not a durable version history and resets when shared changes are received. Autosave does not publish reviews, send invitations, or create a venture.

Background saving lets you keep typing. If the connection fails, your current draft remains in the open session. Retry saving, or reconnect by loading the saved version. Download a copy before replacing a conflicting draft. Unsaved work is not a durable offline backup: refreshing or closing the browser can lose it.

Test the business

In Validate, write the assumption, how you will test it and what would count as a useful signal. Record what actually happened before choosing a conclusion. A positive opinion, AI suggestion or completed checklist is not proof of demand.

Feedback can become a new, untested experiment. Review the proposed writing before adding it; the original feedback remains separate from your own conclusion.

Choose who can review

Your working canvas, brief, references and experiments stay private. Publishing shares the selected review copy and questions, not your entire Studio.

AudienceWho can participate
WorkspacePeople with the required access in your workspace
Invitation onlyThe named recipients, signed in with the invited email address
CommunitySigned-in users through the moderated Entrepreneur Hub

Prepare your request in Review, preview it, then publish it deliberately. Community requests need moderator approval before appearing in the Hub. Entrepreneur Hub is in the app sidebar. Free accounts can browse and participate, subject to the same access, moderation and usage limits; participation is not restricted to paid plans.

Reviews can expire or be closed. Closing or removing a review prevents further access through its link. Published feedback does not grant workspace membership or permission to edit a Studio. Review private or commercially sensitive material before including it in a request.

Email invitations

For an active invitation-only request, choose Email invitations and confirm the listed recipients. Each gets a separate email with the review link. They must sign in with the invited address; receiving the email does not grant editing rights.

The interface distinguishes a requested send, provider acceptance and an uncertain outcome. Provider acceptance does not guarantee inbox delivery. If the outcome is uncertain, contact the platform administrator before creating another invitation. A request is not automatically resent. Email delivery must be available on the platform.

Turn the plan into a venture

Choose Start venture to review the proposed handoff. Check the starting tasks and any gaps in your validation, then create the venture when ready. Creating a venture does not publish a review, invite reviewers or prove that the business has been validated.

Your working materials remain in Studio. The plan steps become venture tasks. Your plan's venture and record limits still apply.

Keep steps and tasks synchronized

Enable Keep this plan synchronized with venture tasks before handoff, or use the synchronization setting in the promoted Studio banner afterward. This also enables automatic Studio saving, even when Live editing is off.

Linked step titles, standard status, completion, target dates, phase and estimates update in both directions. Changes from venture tasks appear when Studio is opened or on its next visible-page refresh. Creating a new Studio step creates a linked task.

  • Removing a Studio step unlinks and preserves its task, including task history and comments.
  • Deleting or moving a task does not recreate it. Remove the old Studio step when you no longer need it.
  • Other venture tasks are not imported into the plan.
  • Assignees, priorities, comments and other task-only fields stay in the venture.
  • Custom task statuses remain on their task until you deliberately choose a standard Studio status.
  • Synchronization requires permission to read, update and create tasks in the linked venture.

Disabling synchronization saves the final plan as a fixed handoff record. Continue managing tasks in the venture, or enable synchronization again when needed.

Limits and recovery

A Studio supports up to 80 notes, 100 shapes, 160 connections, 100 drawing strokes, 50 experiments and 100 plan steps, within its overall document-size limit. Each drawing can contain up to 500 points. Reference files have separate upload limits.

Invitation-only reviews accept up to ten recipients. Posting, responding and email sending also have usage limits to protect the community. If an action is unavailable, check the message, your permissions and your plan limits.

For existing task workflows, see Tasks. For account access, see Security & MFA.

Every project, one cockpit.
